Zbyszek, the father of a typical mining family is content with life until one day his daughter Laura collapses. She is diagnosed with a rare heart dysfunction and recommended for immediate emergency surgery. Desperate to support his family Zbyszek decides to take a more risky, better paid job at the mine. But the work of a methane inspector in one of the deepest coal mines in the world, is neither safe nor easy.
In a sudden underground earthquake, the young man becomes trapped more than 1300m below the earth. A dramatic race against time ensues as the rescue crew tries to reach the trapped survivor...
