The success of TVN's format "Taxing Love" in Lithuania

Lithuanian viewers liked the 2018 Polish romantic comedy “Taxing Love” to such an extent that the decision of producing a Lithuanian remake was made. The film “Vyras už pinigus” hit theaters on December 31 last year and noted better opening results than big American productions such as “The Matrix Resurrections.” Only 2 weeks after its release, the Lithuanian adaptation of “Taxing Love” became the best Lithuanian film to debut in all of 2021. After 3 weeks, the movie is still no. 1 at the local box office with 64,968 viewers (Jan 14-16). What's more, the title was praised not only by the audience but also by film critics.
