Various studies show that Koreans are the most distressed people on earth on their way to reach perfection. From early childhood the pressure to live up to society's expectations is extremaly high. It all begins with children who develop strong need for competition and aim the highest goals. For young Koreans education is as important as their looks. Even men have their share in expansion of the beauty industry. One in five Koreans wears make up on a daily basis and the need for plastic surgery has become almost a national fixation. At the same time South Korea is said to be the country of one of the most depressed, anxious and overworked societies in the world. Is the constant race to perfection to blame? Produced in 2015
