On 26 April 1986 there was a failure of the fourth reactor at the Chernobyl causing the most disastrous nuclear power plant accident in history. In effect, a total of 116 thousand people were relocated from the area around the power plant. 300 thousand people were involved in remedying the effects of the disaster.
See TVN’s crew re-enter the Chernobyl exclusion zone to witness the installation of the new sarcophagus that is believed to absorb the deadly radiation for the next century.
